AMC 10B/12B CONTEST DETAILS

 

Date/Time of Contest

25th February 2009 (Wednesday) in a convenient 75-min period

 

Venue

Your school premises; invigilation to be arranged by your school, not at the expense of the organizer.

 

Eligibility

·         AMC 10B: For students Grade 10/ Sec 4 and below, aged 17 and below on the day of the contest.

·         AMC 12B: For students Grade 12/JC 2 and below, aged 19 and below on the day of the contest.

 

Contest Registration Fee

·         S$12 per student (min 20 students with your school as the contest centre, to register by 8 Feb 2009)

·         Registration fee includes the contest fee, questions and solution pamphlets plus postage and packing.

 

Contest Format

·         To complete 25 multiple-choice questions in 75 min.

·         Each correct answer scores 6 points, a blank scores 1.5 points and an incorrect answer scores 0 points.

      Highest possible score is 150 points.

 

Awards

1.         Winner Pin

Awarded to the top-scoring student in your school for both the AMC 10 and AMC 12.

 

2.         Certificate of Distinction

Awarded to students who qualify for the American Invitational Mathematics Exam II

(AIME II), which will be held on 1 Apr 2009(Wed).

Processing fee for AIME II will be sponsored by Maths Oasis Pte Ltd.

 

3.         Honor Roll of Distinction Pin

Awarded to the top 1% of AMC 10 and the top 1% of AMC 12 participants

 

4.         AMC 10 Certificate of Achievement

For students in grade 8 and below who score 100 or above on the AMC 10 contest.

 

5.         AMC 12 Certificate of Achievement

For students in grade 10 and below who score 100 or above on the AMC 12 contest

 

6.         School Certificate of Honor

            Awarded to schools with a team score of 400 or greater.

 

7.         School Certificate of Merit

            Awarded to schools with a team score between 300 and 399,
